MEET THE TEAM

Michael LafondMichael Lafond - President and co-Founder

Michael has worked in the Benefits Administration Industry for almost 20 years, working for prominent software providers, delivering leading-edge government forms solutions. Over the years, in the course of leading teams creating reporting software, he has worked closely with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). Michael has frequently presented on various government forms related topics at conferences and user groups. By leveraging his broad knowledge of information technology, software development, and his experience working with the ERISA data collected by the federal government, he has helped to provide prospecting tools allowing practitioners to locate and win new business more easily.

Michael started his career in the retirement services industry in 1993 as a senior software developer with a company known then as PEAK 1 Resources, Inc. which was later acquired by SunGard Data Systems. Through the years his achievements led to new opportunities, and in 1998 he was promoted to Vice President. During his tenure, Michael was recognized several times for exceeding operating income targets, and his customer support groups twice ranked in the top three of all business units with SunGard.

Prior to working at PEAK 1 Resources, Michael was a Research Physicist at a small start-up, designing fiber optic sensors. While there he authored several published and peer reviewed articles and conference presentations. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics at California State University, Fullerton, and before that he studied Mechanical Engineering at GMI Engineering & Management Institute/Kettering University.

He lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wife and three sons.

Jeff TuccyJeff Tuccy - Vice President emeritus and co-Founder 

Jeff has worked in the Financial Services industry for more than 20 years. He is a pension and retirement plan expert with business development, plan design and operations experience. Jeff's focus has been to develop innovative business solutions and improve sales win rates. He is recognized for developing and deepening client relationships by applying a consultative approach to identify and meet client needs. His experience includes some of the largest companies in the industry. Jeff has extensive experience in both the for-profit and the not-for-profit/public employer marketplace.

Jeff began his career in the Financial Services industry working for Citigroup Diners Club where he developed a strong service focus and managed a group responsible for the Corporate Business Relationships and managing Travel and Expense systems. In 1992 he began working in the retirement services industry in a sales support and sales operations role. While working as a proposal writer for Great-West Financial, Jeff realized that the proposal is not just an ancillary step within the sales process, but was an integral part of the sale. He introduced a process where the proposal writers evolved into a business development manager, supporting the entire sales process. Jeff's success led to increased win rates and sales for the firm.

Jeff gained further experience with AIG Valic and TIAA-CREF where his approach to integrating proposal writing departments with sales team lead to further increased win rates. Jeff is an alumnus of the Miller-Heiman sales system and learned many of the practices and methods through this approach. He advocates and supports a deliberate and consultative approach to selling as he believes this is the best way to meet customer needs and build long-term business relationships.

Jeff earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics from Colorado State University. He lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with his wife and three children.

Jeff left ERISA Business Intelligence, Inc. in 2016 to pursue other opportunities.
